MEET OUR TEAM
Lead Pastors Shawn & Sarah Chapman
Pastor Shawn & Sarah have been serving in ministry together since 2013. They spent seven years serving as children’s pastors in Mobile, Alabama, before God called their family to Cornerstone in 2021. Sarah is especially grateful to be back in Western North Carolina, where she graduated high school and college, and where much of her family still lives.
With backgrounds in law enforcement, emergency services, healthcare, children’s ministry, and foster care, Shawn & Sarah have a heart for people in every season of life—especially hurting people, children, and families. They believe every person matters to God and that the Church should be a place where people can find hope, healing, belonging, and a fresh start.
Shawn & Sarah have been married since 2007 and are blessed with two children. After becoming the lead pastors of Cornerstone in 2025, they are grateful for the opportunity to serve the church and look forward to serving the Andrews community for years to come.
Luke Thompson - Worship Leader
Luke, along with his wife, Amber, and their three children, joined the Cornerstone family in October 2018. With more than 20 years of experience serving on worship teams, Luke has a deep passion for leading people into genuine worship.
His heart is to create an atmosphere where people can encounter God, worship freely, and experience His presence.
Ashley Hyde - Children's Ministry Director
Ashley was born and raised in Andrews and is passionate about investing in the next generation. She and her husband, Billy, are blessed with five children of their own. Ashley has served as Cornerstone’s Children’s Ministry Director since January 2019.
Her heart is to help children know who God is, understand His love for them, and grow in a lifelong relationship with Him.
Kellie Phillips - Student Ministry Director
Kellie is also a life-long resident of Andrews and has a heart for investing in the next generation. She is passionate about helping students discover their worth and identity in Christ, grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus, and understand the purpose He has for their lives.
Her heart is to see students know they are loved by God, discover who He created them to be, and live a life fully devoted to Jesus.
